Bitumen DECANTER in Romania

A bitumen bag decanter is commonly used in countries where bitumen is scarce or not readily available. Bitumen, delivered in frozen big bag packages, is melted, stored, and prepared for use. Typically, a big bag bitumen decanter consists of a hot oil boiler, a bitumen melting system, and bitumen storage tanks.

For our customer in Romania, a bitumen decanter and hot oil boiler were designed and produced based on their daily capacity requirements. Since the construction site lacked forklifts, the system was equipped with a crane for handling big bag bitumen. The facility has a melting capacity of 10 tons per hour, enabling a daily output of approximately 80 tons of bitumen, and it is designed with a 20 m³ bitumen storage capacity to ensure efficient operations.

The facility utilizes a thermal oil heating system powered by a 1,000,000 kcal/hour hot oil boiler. The hot oil boiler is equipped with high-efficiency insulation, a light fuel burner, and safety-focused components to maximize operational security. The front and rear covers of the boiler are designed to be removable for easy maintenance. Additionally, refractory concrete was used on the front and rear covers to minimize heat loss and prevent material deformation due to high temperatures.

Hot oil and bitumen piping were installed on-site, and the system was commissioned. A pumping station was also established for mobile bitumen tank filling. After commissioning the bitumen decanter, the necessary training was provided to ensure customer satisfaction, and the system was handed over successfully.
