Types of Cement Silos and Production Methods

Depending on your project location, transportation conditions, and storage requirements, we offer two main types of cement silos.

1. Bolted Cement Silos

For overseas export projects, international logistics, and high storage capacity (150–1000 tons [t] and above) requirements, they provide unmatched transportation advantages.

Economical Container Transportation:
The steel plates forming the silo body are packed separately in modules. A single 40 ft Open Top (OT) container can accommodate more than one bolted cement silo.

Maximum Sealing Performance:
The joints between the steel plates are sealed with industrial gaskets and high-strength bolts. Thus, moisture penetration is completely prevented, and cement leakage is eliminated.

Easy On-Site Installation:
Using special lifting equipment and standard bolted connections, fast installation can be completed on-site without requiring complex welding operations.

2. Welded Cement Silos

Completed at the Factory and Ready for Shipment:
All welding processes, quality inspections, tests, and painting applications are completed at the factory. Thanks to the monoblock structure, the silo is shipped to the job site as a single piece.

Ready for Immediate Use:
As soon as it arrives at the job site, it can be fixed to the foundation and put into operation in a short time, allowing concrete production to start immediately.

Ideal for Small and Medium-Capacity Projects:
Generally preferred for projects with capacities of 30, 50, 75, and 100 tons. Thanks to their compact structure, they provide high efficiency in areas with limited space.

No On-Site Installation Required:
Since it is delivered as a single piece, there is no need for on-site welding, assembly teams, or additional labor costs. This significantly reduces both installation time and total investment cost.

Cement Silo Capacity and Standard Dimensions Table

Standard cement silo models we manufacture according to your project scale and their technical specifications:

Silo Safety and Auxiliary Equipment

We supply all essential safety and material flow accessories required to ensure the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of a cement silo as standard.

1. Top-Mounted Jet Filter (Dust Collector)

Captures cement dust generated during silo filling, preventing dust emissions into the environment while releasing clean air to the atmosphere.

2. Pressure Relief Valve

Protects the silo against deformation caused by excessive positive pressure or vacuum conditions that may occur during pneumatic cement loading.

3. High and Low Level Sensors

Continuously monitor the material level inside the silo and transmit real-time signals to the automation system, providing warnings in case of overfilling or low material levels.

4. Air Fluidization Jets (Aeration Pads)

Installed in the conical section of the silo to prevent cement bridging and material compaction, ensuring a smooth and continuous material discharge.

5. Cement Screw Conveyor

Heavy-duty cement screw conveyors are designed to transfer cement discharged from the silo to the weighing hopper or concrete mixer at the required angle and distance.

What Determines the Price of a Cement Silo?

Cement silo prices vary depending on the selected storage capacity, silo type, material quality, and optional equipment. Since every project has different requirements, each silo is designed and priced according to its technical specifications.

The main factors affecting the price include:

Storage Capacity (Tons):

A 100-ton cement silo and a 500-ton bolted cement silo differ in terms of the amount of steel used, plate thickness, and structural support system. As the storage capacity increases, the manufacturing cost increases accordingly.

Bolted or Monoblock Silo Selection:

Depending on the project’s transportation and installation requirements, either a bolted cement silo or a monoblock cement silo is selected. Bolted silos provide significant logistical advantages for international transportation, while monoblock silos are the ideal solution for projects requiring rapid on-site installation.

Steel Plate Thickness and Paint Quality:

One of the most important factors determining the service life of a silo is the quality of the steel and surface protection system. ST37 or ST52 structural steel plates, together with industrial protective coatings or epoxy paint systems, provide long-lasting and durable performance.

Equipment and Optional Accessories:

Optional equipment such as jet filters, pressure relief valves, high and low level sensors, air fluidization systems, vibrators, cement screw conveyors, and automation equipment are among the key factors affecting the total investment cost.

Project-Specific Engineering Solutions:

Custom engineering solutions prepared by considering the silo height, support structure, wind and seismic loads, discharge system, and site conditions also play a decisive role in the final price. This ensures that the most suitable technical solution and a competitive quotation are provided for every project.
